Frequently Asked Questions
What is the working relationship with Alio Healthcare?
Nurses work with Alio Healthcare as independent contractors. This means you operate as a self-directed professional, accepting assignments on a per-patient basis. Alio Healthcare coordinates opportunities and facilitates communication with pharmacy and healthcare partners, but you maintain control over your schedule and workload.
How are patient assignments offered and scheduled?
Assignments are coordinated based on patient needs, your location, and your stated availability. Our team will share relevant opportunities with you, including details such as therapy type, location, and timing. You are free to accept or decline assignments based on your schedule and clinical comfort level.
How much flexibility do I actually have?
Flexibility is a core part of our model. There are no required minimum hours or fixed schedules. Some nurses choose to take on a small number of visits per month, while others build a more consistent caseload. The level of engagement is entirely driven by your availability and the volume of work in your region.
What types of therapies can I work with?
Alio Healthcare supports nurse-administered therapies across all therapeutic areas. This may include intravenous infusions, subcutaneous or intramuscular injections, and other specialty medication administration. Specific assignments will vary depending on partner needs, and nurses are only assigned to cases that align with their competencies.
Where will patient care take place?
Care is delivered in multiple settings depending on the assignment. This includes patient homes (most commonly), community-based settings (infusion clinics, hospital in or out patient settings, etc.), and pharmacy locations. Some opportunities could include supporting pharmacy infusion clinics directly, including short-term coverage or longer-term placements.
What is expected during a patient visit?
Nurses are responsible for completing all aspects of the visit in accordance with the prescribed therapy and clinical protocols. This includes patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring for adverse reactions, patient education, and documentation. Maintaining a high standard of clinical care and professionalism is expected at all times.
Will I receive training and onboarding?
Onboarding includes an overview of expectations, documentation standards, medication overview, and access to pharmacy-specific protocols where applicable. While this role is best suited for experienced nurses, we ensure that you have the necessary information to confidently complete each assignment.
Are there opportunities available in rural and underserved communities?
Yes. A significant portion of our work involves supporting patients in rural, remote, and underserved communities where access to care is limited.
Can I work alongside Alio Healthcare alongside another job?
Yes. Many nurses work with Alio Healthcare in addition to other roles. The flexible structure allows you to integrate assignments into your existing schedule without long-term commitments.
